Orania, the white-only town
Orania is an Afrikaner-only community surrounded by the Karoo desert in South Africa where record-breaking temperatures are often registered. The town was established in 1991 where no black people live and it’s also know by many by “the town of the racists”. Orania has also proved to be the answer for those Afrikaners who felt displaced in the land their people had ruled for many decades during apartheid.
